Welcome to Katie Bonas, the home of beautifully hand-painted and distressed furniture.

Based in the heart of the Cotswolds, Katie Bonas was created in 2010 after moving out of London for a complete lifestyle change, when I moved to Gloucestershire to be with my husband-to-be. I have always been very creative and had a passion for antiques, so decided to combine the two and bring new life to old and unloved furniture.

I get so much enjoyment from giving vintage and antique pieces a new personality whilst keeping the integrity of their history very much intact. Period pieces are usually far better made than modern equivalents and research shows that antique furniture is sixteen times greener than modern furniture - my upcycled furniture is the ultimate in eco-chic!

I source my furniture personally then sympathetically rework and handpaint each piece. I use a beautiful and subtle palette of chalk paint colours, which add decorative charm to any home. The pieces are waxed and finished to a high standard of detail and each piece is truly unique. Given the age of individual items, they often come with the usual imperfections that you would associate with things of such an age - but that's why we love them!
